The Frank O’Bannon Grant
The Frank O’Bannon Grant is Indiana’s top higher education grant based on financial need. For Indiana residents attending eligible postsecondary institutions, they are automatically considered for this grant when filling out the FAFSA. How much you are awarded depends, of course, on need, but also the type of institution you are going to. Typically you receive more if going to a private school.
The 21st Century Scholarship
The 21st Century Scholarships is a need-based scholarship that Indiana students are automatically enrolled in when they are eligible for Free and Reduced Price Lunch in the 7th or 8th grade. If you are an Indiana student in foster care, you will not need to meet the financial requirements.
Indiana tuition reciprocity agreements
Indiana is a part of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC). This organization comes from legislation that made it so 12 midwestern states can work together to provide tuition discounts. Most of these discounts come in the form of providing out-of-state students the opportunity to pay in-state tuition.
