State grants in Kansas

Kansas Comprehensive Grant

The Kansas Comprehensive Grant is available to Kansa residents attending eligible Kansas institutions at full-time status. It is granted to students based on financial need. On average, about 1 in 3 eligible students receive funding from this grant each year. 

Kansas Career Technical Workforce Grant

The Kansas Career Technical Workforce Grant is for Kansas residents looking to get certificates or degrees in a high cost, high demand, or critical industry field. Awards are given based on financial need and eligible institutions include technical colleges, community colleges, and public four year colleges. 

Kansas Promise Act Scholarship

The aim of the Kansas Promise Act Scholarship is to support Kansas residents who are looking to further their education in certain areas. These fields of study include information technology and security, mental and physical health care, advanced manufacturing and building trades, and early childhood education and development. Eligible institutions include community colleges, technical colleges and certain private schools. 

Kansas tuition reciprocity agreements

Tuition reciprocity is an exchange program that allows students in certain states to attend other schools in partner states at a reduced cost. The program Kansas is involved with is called the Midwest Higher Education Compact (MHEC) and it’s partner states are listed below:
