You might want to consider applying for the Wayne F. Placek Grant! The scholarship is offered through the American Psychological Foundation and honors Wayne F. Placek, the initial research subject of Evelyn Hooker, who was the researcher who proved that homosexuality is not a form of psychopathology. The goal of this scholarship is to increase the general public's understanding of homosexuality and sexual orientation and to alleviate the stress that lesbian women, gay men, bisexual women, bisexual men, and transgender individuals experience in this and future generations. Applying requires the submission of your online application, as well as a detailed research proposal. The committee will evaluate your application on its relevance to the Placek program goals, magnitude of incremental contribution, quality of proposed work, and the applicant’s demonstrated scholarship and research competence.
