    Scholarship Overview

    Are you a 16-25-year-old LGBTQ+ individual from California? Further, are you an artist whose art demonstrates “a commitment to raising awareness about LGBTQ+ issues and has “contributed to the conversation?” If so, consider applying for the Grace Towers Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship is awarded to applicants whose video submissions best “speak about their reasoning behind creating art and the LGBTQ+ topics they explore through it.” In addition, all applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from someone who can speak to how the “applicant has contributed to making their school a safer place for LGBTQ+ students in a meaningful way.” If you’re a 16-25-year-old LGBTQ+ individual and artist from California, we encourage you to apply!     Queens of the Castro, established in 2011, "bring drags to schools and universities throughout California" and aims to mentor, empower, support and create safer spaces for LGBTQ+ youth ages 16 - 25.
