***Idea harvesting scholarships will require students to submit blog posts or other materials that companies may use for marketing purposes.

Ethics are an important thing to have, encompassing people’s moral principles and impacting how they conduct themselves in life. High ethical values can be demonstrated in many ways, just some of them including an individual’s overall integrity, community service, and/or leadership. If you feel that you have high ethical standards, and are a minority student from Connecticut, you may be eligible for the Connecticut Better Business Bureau Diverse Student Ethics Scholarship! To be eligible for this $2,500 scholarship, you must be a "diverse" college-bound high school senior from Connecticut. "Diverse" encompasses those who are a member of any minority group as defined by race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. In addition, you must demonstrate high ethics whether through leadership, community service, integrity, or good academic standing. To be considered for the scholarship, submit a completed application, a high school transcript, three letters of recommendation, and an essay. The Connecticut Better Business Bureau Diverse Student Ethics Scholarship is just one of the many Connecticut scholarships, community service scholarships, leadership scholarships, and scholarships for minority students that can be found on the Scholarships360 platform. We encourage you to apply for this scholarship and discover others you could qualify for as well. Good luck! Show Less

Engineering is a diverse field, including a large variety of subfields, from chemical engineering to civil engineering, materials engineering, and even geomatics/survey engineering. However, the diversity of the field is somewhat lacking, with minority students being historically underrepresented in these fields. The NCSPA Donald L. Bibey Memorial Scholarship for Diversity hopes to change this - offering $2,000 to one (1) minority student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program or in an accredited land-surveying program. Applicants must be U.S. citizens entering their junior, senior, or fifth year, or master’s degree program to be eligible. How to win scholarships for Asian students

Now that you’ve got a list of great opportunities to apply for, it’s time to get started on your applications. With so many applicants trying for each opportunity, you’ll have to make sure that your applications showcase your strengths effectively. Luckily, we can help you in this. You can start off with our guide to starting a scholarship essay (with examples) to help you get that first sentence on the page. Then, check out our guide to writing an essay about yourself and our “Show, Don’t Tell” essay primer.

Here are a few other guides to help you through your applications:

    Resources for Asian students

As an Asian student, you have access to a wide variety of organizations that can help you meet people around the country who have similar personal or professional interests. Joining these groups can help you to network, land a job or internship, and even earn scholarship funds. The CelebrASIAN conference is a great example of this for Asian students interested in business and development.

It’s also becoming increasingly common for colleges to collect a hub of resources for students of different heritages. Pages such as this hub on Wellesley’s site can be very useful to find organizations and resources for Asian students tailored specifically to their college or geographical region. If your school doesn’t have a page like this, try reaching out to your Asian student union or to a campus life representative.

Frequently asked questions about scholarships for Asian students

Are there scholarships for Asian women available?

If you are an Asian female looking for more scholarships, you can check out our top scholarships for women which will have some other great opportunities to apply for.

Are there any specific college merit scholarships for Asian students?

It really depends on the school! We’d suggest starting with this list of colleges that award merit aid as a first step. You can also check in with the specific colleges on your list. Many of them will offer scholarships that are aimed to support specific groups of students. For instance, the Trustee Opportunity Scholarship at Kenyon College aims to support all underrepresented students, including Asian and Pacific Islander students.

Do I qualify for these scholarships if I am only half Asian?

Generally, yes! For the most part, there is no specific requirement for the percentage of Asian heritage you must have to apply for these scholarships. Students who are only one quarter, and sometimes even one eighth, might apply. Unless it lists a specific benchmark, which would be very unusual, you should be fine.
