Offered by The United Health Foundation (UHF) & National Medical Fellowships (NMF)
The United Health Foundation/NMF Diverse Medical Scholars Program is funded by The United Health Foundation (UHF) & National Medical Fellowships (NMF), an organization that provides scholarships and support for underrepresented students in medicine and the health professions. Each year, their United Health Foundation/NMF Diverse Medical Scholars Program awards $7,000 to multiple second-, third-, and fourth-year underrepresented medical students who are dedicated to serving underserved communities. In addition to the monetary reward, recipients will be required to complete their program requirements between December and June following the application deadline. Some of these include: completing 200 service-learning hours in an underserved community, writing a report on a community health project, creating a poster to be displayed at the program’s culminating event, and participating in and presenting at this event.
