Through the T-Mobile tuition assistance program, full-time employees can receive up to $5,250 per year while part-time employees are eligible for up to $2,500 a year. 

T-Mobile has also partnered with Ashford University, Capella University, Colorado Technical University, Kaplan, and University of Phoenix (UoP) to offer free or discounted tuition, so be sure to inquire about this perk. 

Step-by-step guide to get tuition reimbursement at T-Mobile

1. Obtain a job at your local T-Mobile

In order to receive tuition reimbursement, you must be a full or part-time employee at T-Mobile. So the first step is visiting T-Mobile’s career website to find open positions near you. 

T-Mobile has a variety of job positions to choose from that range from full-time to internship openings. Aim for a job that caters toward your skills and interests so that you enjoy going to work.

Once you’re hired, congratulations, you’re one step closer to getting tuition reimbursement! T-Mobile employees have to work and remain in good standing for at least 90 days to qualify for the tuition assistance benefit. 

2. Create an EdAssist account

After being employed for 90 days, you can get started on getting your tuition benefit! First, log in to Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions to begin your application. In order to register, you have to use your employee number as your username before creating a password.

3. Choose the right school for you

Everyone’s academic journey is different, and that’s why T-Mobile gives their employees the ability to choose their universities. The only requirement is that the university must be regionally accredited. 

They also offer a full tuition benefit for five online universities: Ashford University, Capella University, Colorado Technical University, Kaplan, and University of Phoenix. Online school allows employees to be more flexible with their schedules to maintain work-life balance.

4. Complete your online request/application for Tuition Assistance

Get started on your application by gathering your personal information. Be sure to have your employee and school information. You will need to fill out your area of study, the college or university you’ll attend, and information on the courses you’ll take.

It’s important to sign up for EdAssist and submit your application at least 45 days before your classes start.

After completing your application, you’ll have to get it approved by a manager before T-Mobile pays your school directly. You will receive a Letter of Credit (LOC) once your application is approved. 

You’ll receive reimbursement for your book costs and academic fees upon completion of the course.

5. Begin your studies and graduate debt-free

6. Complete your courses and submit your paperwork

T-Mobile requires their employees to successfully complete their courses with the minimum grade requirement in order to receive tuition reimbursement. In order to fulfill this requirement, employees must submit their grades as proof of completion of the course.
