The DC Mayor’s Scholars Undergraduate Program is available to residents of DC who are pursuing or planning to pursue their first associate or bachelor's degree. Students who are enrolled in one of the participating colleges or universities are eligible to apply. Recipients are chosen for their demonstration of financial need and satisfactory academic promise. The scholarship awards up to $4,000 per year. While Associate's degree students can receive the scholarship for up to four years (totalling $16,000), Bachelor's degree students may receive it for up to six years (totalling $24,000). The Italian regions of Abruzzo and Molise have a rich cultural, social, and educational heritage. To promote the study of these unique regions and Italy as a whole, the Abruzzo and Molise Heritage Society (AMHS) is offering a $4,000 scholarship for members and relatives of the AHMS.  Two awards are offered to high school seniors and college students with at least a 3.5 GPA who are interested in Italian studies. Each year, Team DC offers $2,000 scholarships to a number of self-identified LGBTQ+ high school seniors in the D.C. metropolitan area who have made a contribution to a sport they are passionate about. The funds can be used to offset any educational expenses the student may face as they enter a two or four-year accredited college or university. Since 2008, Team DC has been able to award $112,000 in scholarships to promising young LGBTQ+ athletes/role models.  Being open about your sexuality as a young person is incredibly difficult.
