Are you either (a) a female, high school senior of color from Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia who will be pursuing a visual fine arts program of study in college or (b) a current, female, first- or second-year college student of color from Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia who is enrolled in a visual arts program? If so, the WCADC Visual Art Scholarship may be a good opportunity for you! Each year, the scholarship awards between $2,000 and $5,000 to one (1) female high school senior or college underclasswoman of color from Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia who are aspiring visual artists. In addition, winners receive a 1-year student membership to the WCA/DC chapter. To be considered for the scholarship, interested students must submit images of three of their pieces of original artwork, Artist Statement(s), a Reflection Statement, and a letter of recommendation. Women Caucus for Art - DC, Maryland and Virginia Chapter is a local chapter of the National WCA based in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. They are a community of women artists, curators, art historians, and art collectors with a mission to create community through art, education, and social activism.
