Scholarship Review Process

The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

If you believe a scholarship has been published in error, please reach out to [email protected] and we’ll take a look!

* There are certain exceptions to this, for example if the sponsoring organization is a major corporation or nonprofit with its own scholarship application system.
** Lead generation scholarships will require students to sign up for an app or website and require minimal (if any) application requirements.
***Idea harvesting scholarships will require students to submit blog posts or other materials that companies may use for marketing purposes.

If you’re a high school senior approaching graduation, there’s still plenty of time to put a dent in your tuition bill with some of the best April scholarships! This list also includes great opportunities for high school students in their freshman, sophomore, and junior years, as well as April scholarships for college students.

Jump ahead to:

April checklist for students

High school seniors

  • High school seniors will be making their college decision this month. While going by your “gut” can be useful, you should be focusing on the data too.
  • Some students don’t know that it is possible to appeal for more financial aid! This can potentially help you decrease the cost of attendance (and the amount of student loans that you need to take out).
  • Speaking of student loans, if you are considering taking out private student loans (which should only be taken out after your other financial aid, including federal loans are exhausted), you should use a student loan marketplace to shop around.

High school juniors

How to win April scholarships

While you’re enjoying the spring weather, take some time to start applying for scholarships. April is a great time to get started because you can make the most out of your spring break. Even though you might be focused on relaxing, a 250 word essay or even a 500 word essay won’t take as long as you might think. Be sure to write about yourself and the experiences that make you an ideal and unique scholarship candidate.

Frequently asked questions

Is April too late to apply for scholarships?

No. However, it’s a good idea to keep track of the deadlines for scholarship applications you’re interested in. It’s best to get your application in as soon as possible, but as long as they’re still accepting submissions, you’re good to go!

How do I make my application stand out?

A key part of being a unique applicant is your essay, resume, and/or portfolio. Diversifying your resume and portfolio can qualify you for a variety of different scholarship opportunities, and you can apply to them all! Your essay should also highlight why you should receive the scholarship, and what it will mean for you.
