Every year, Tacuna Systems is pleased to offer a scholarship opportunity for women pursuing a career in STEM. For 2025, we are excited to partner with our preferred supplier, ANYLOAD, to co-sponsor this scholarship. This program aims to increase the representation of women in technical fields by financially assisting with their education. Our goal is to grant a $1,000 scholarship to two female students who are currently pursuing a higher education in science, technology, engineering, or math. One scholarship will be awarded to a student at a U.S. institution and one will be awarded to a student at a Canadian institution. To be eligible, students must be enrolled or accepted and planning to be enrolled as a full-time student for the upcoming semester or quarter immediately following the scholarship distribution.Show Less

The M.M. Costello Scholarship offers financial assistance to female active, retired, reserve, or veteran members of the U.S. Army OR their female or male descendants. To support those who share Paul's love for the physical sciences, the Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County is offering a $23,000 scholarship! To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must be college-bound high school seniors at Coast Union, Morro Bay, or Paso Robles High School. Applicants must also have a minimum 2.5 GPA and plan to pursue a degree in physical science or technical areas at a California Community College and/or a California State University or University of California system school. The scholarship will be distributed as follows: $3,000 toward freshman year, $5,000 toward sophomore year, $7,000 toward junior year, and 8,000 toward the recipient's senior year of college. Yinghsia Shih Li, despite enduring humble beginnings in China and living through WWII and its aftermath, was determined to succeed. Upon graduating high school, she would go on to earn her undergraduate physics degree in Taiwan and a Master's in Physics in the United States. To honor Yinghsia, her husband lovingly established a scholarship to support young female students who display Yinghsia's determined nature and passion for STEM. To qualify for the Yinghsia Shih Li Memorial Scholarship, individuals must be female high school seniors graduating from a high school in San Luis Obispo County, California. They must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be pursuing a STEM (agricultural science, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, or physics) degree. The scholarship is open to international women who want to earn a STEM degree in the U.S. or Canada and are allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada. Hans P. Loewen, an outstanding midshipman third class at the US Naval Academy at only 20-years-old, was a man of many interests and talents. In addition to working at the naval academy, he was an American Nuclear Society member who studied oceanography and enjoyed kitesurfing, slacklining, DJing, and more. Hans' vibrant life was tragically cut short at age 20. However, a scholarship was established in his name to carry on his legacy of passion and appreciation for life. To be eligible for the Hans P. Loewen Scholarship, applicants must be graduating high school seniors, college freshmen, or sophomores who have enrolled full-time in college courses and are pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM). They must also be American Nuclear Society (ANS) student members. To apply, interested students must submit an essay describing "their leadership qualities and, in particular, how they help others meet their goals and their interest in supporting nuclear science and technology."
