    Scholarship Overview

    Are you a member of ASM International or a Material Advantage student member with an intended or declared major in metallurgy or materials science engineering? Further, have you finished at least one year of college and are either (a) from Pennsylvania or (b) attending a university in Pennsylvania? If so, the John M. Haniak Scholarship may be a good opportunity for you! Each year, the scholarship awards $1,500 to one (1) ASM or Material Advantage student member who is either from or attending school in Pennsylvania, beyond their first year of college, and pursuing studies in metallurgy or materials science engineering. This scholarship was established in 2003 by the family of John Myron Haniak, who was a lifelong dedicated member of ASM International. To apply, interested students must submit a personal statement, transcript, and two letters of recommendation.
