To support students who have been affected by spinal cord injuries and disabilities, the Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation is offering the Bryon Riesch Scholarship. Worth between $1,000 and $4,000, this scholarship is awarded annually to two or more students. To be eligible for this award, applicants must either have a spinal cord injury/spinal cord related disability or be the child of such an individual. Priority is given to individuals who have direct spinal cord injuries and diseases resulting in paralysis such as spinal tumors, spinal strokes, or aneurysms. Priority is also given to people living in Wisconsin, but scholarships may still be given out to individuals residing elsewhere in the United States depending on the funds available. All applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. To apply, students must submit a 200-word essay describing why they deserve to be awarded the scholarship. Applicants must also list five and ten-year goals, and provide a list of their work experience. The United States Army offers this scholarship and other programs to relieve the financial pressure on future servicemen and women as they pursue their education and army training. Multiple recipients are chosen to receive up to 100% tuition coverage, in addition to receiving a monthly stipend of $420 per month. Lastly, scholarship recipients also receive up to $1,200 per year to pay for books and housing. The ISCP is open to college freshmen and sophomores in specific majors whose universities host an Air Force ROTC program and who have completed at least one term as full-time students. The U.S. Air Force ROTC offers the scholarship program as a way to support students and develop leaders for future members of the air force. Thus, students who are selected for the program must accept a commission as an Air or Space Force officer and serve at least four years on active duty. In addition to this, chosen applicants may receive scholarships in varying amounts to help with their tuition costs. Bear in mind that there is no formal application process for the Program.
