The Eradicating Food Deserts Scholarship annually awards $1,000 to a US citizen or permanent resident who is attending or planning to attend an accredited college or university in the upcoming Fall semester and writes the best essay on “How the United States can eradicate the problem of food deserts in impoverished areas.” Applicants should use data from the government, private agencies, or non-profits to support their argument, and must have a minimum 2.0 GPA in order to apply.
