The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

The Process Control Division provides at least one scholarship to engineering students who demonstrate an interest in the development of professional skills within the process control fields of the pulp and paper industry. Applicants may either be enrolled at a college or university in an engineering or science program, or a full-time student or a full-time participant in a cooperative work-study program recognized and supported by the educational institution.

Eligibility information

Grade Level: College Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors

Minimum GPA: 3.0

Academic Interest: Paper and Pulp Engineering, Engineering, Science, Technology, and Society

The Joe Dieffenbacher Engineering Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student interested in entering the engineering area of the corrugated industry. Applicants may either be working full-time or part-time in the corrugated industry and attending day/night school for a graduate or undergraduate degree OR full-time students in a two-year or a four-year college, university, or technical school. They should also demonstrate an extracurricular interest in the corrugated packaging industry related to maintenance or engineering. Thus, part-time employment and/or internships in the corrugated industry are looked upon in a very favorable manner.
