Top New Jersey scholarships in 2022
$2,500 New Jersey First Generation Scholarship
- Eligibility: New Jersey high school senior or undergraduate students who have a GPA of 3.5 or above and are involved in curricular activities
- Amount: $2,500 (two scholarships are awarded!)
- Deadline: April 25, 2022
NJCPA Scholarship
- Eligibility: College students in their senior year with at least 3.2 GPAs interested in pursuing an accounting-related graduate program in New Jersey
- Amount: $6,000
- Deadline: January 7
Janet Logan Daily Foundation Scholarship
- Eligibility: Students who have worked at least 30 hours weekly during summers since the age of 16
- Amount: $10,000
- Deadline: April 1
Builder’s League of South Jersey Scholarship
- Eligibility: Students from southern New Jersey matriculating in an accredited, post-secondary school and planning to major in real estate and construction industry related fields
- Amount: $3,500
- Deadline: April 30
John Lepping Memorial Scholarship
- Eligibility: Students with physical or psychological disabilities
- Amount: $5,000
- Deadline: May 1
Rogers Family Scholarship
- Eligibility: New Jersey residents with at least 15 college credits who are pursuing environmental science related degrees
- Amount: $7,500
- Deadline: May 1
SWE New Jersey Section Scholarship
- Eligibility: Women studying in community college, baccalaureate, or graduate programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and computer science
- Amount: $2,000

John E. Kostic Juvenile Diabetes Scholarship
- Eligibility: High school seniors with type 1 diabetes with strong academic and extracurricular activities
- Amount: $5,000

Harris Y. Cotton Memorial Scholarship
- Eligibility: Students interested in pursuing law enforcement
- Amount: $2,500, renewable

Meland Foundation Nursing Scholarship
- Eligibility: NJ-NY-CT-PA area nurses who already earned BSN degrees planning on earning to become pediatric specialty Nurse Practitioners

New Jersey Foster Care Scholars Program
- Eligibility: Students who have been in foster care
- Amount: Varies year to year

New Jersey Survivor Tuition Benefits Program & Law Enforcement
Officer Memorial Scholarship
- Eligibility: Child or surviving spouse of a New Jersey firefighter, emergency service worker or law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty
- Amount: Free tuition at any public institution of higher education in New Jersey.
- Deadline: Applications accepted each semester until October 1st and March 1st of each year
World Trade Center Scholarship
- Eligibility: Students who dependents or spouses of people affected by 9/11
- Amount: $5,000 per year
- Deadline: Applications accepted each semester until October 1st and March 1st of each year
Governor’s Industry Vocations Scholarship for Women & Minorities
- Eligibility: Students who are women and minorities
- Amount: $2,000 per year
- Deadline: Applications accepted each semester until December 1st and June 1st of each year
Resources for New Jersey students
Educational Opportunity Fund
The New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) provides financial assistance and support services to students from educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds who attend one of the 42 participating higher education institutes in the state. Renewable undergraduate grants range from $200 annually to $2,650 annually depending on financial need.
FAFSA Guide
The FAFSA opens on October 1st of each year. The general deadlines for NJ students are April 15th for Tuition Aid Grant recipients, For all others, apply for the FAFSA by Sept. 15th for the fall and spring terms. For the spring term only, apply by Feb. 15th. Remember, though, the earlier you apply, the better!
