Step-by-step guide to get tuition reimbursement at Target

    1. Find a job at a nearby Target (All positions are eligible)

Visit Target’s career website in order to view open positions. If you input a location it will provide you with open positions near that area. Target has 1,950 locations in the United States.

Positions open at Target can vary from specialty sales, service and engagement, general merchandise and food sales and support roles. All of these positions whether part-time or full-time are eligible for tuition reimbursement.

Even if there are no positions open in your location range, there is no need to worry! You can sign up for job alerts for the specific position and location that interests you. You can also go in person to the location to speak with a manager regarding your interest. Doing both will keep you ahead of the competition!

    2. Create a Guild Education account

Target has partnered with Guild Education to be able to provide its team members with tuition assistance and reimbursement.

Access this Guild Education page specifically for Target employees to begin your studies. All you have to do is create an account to gain access to Target’s academic programs.

Once you are logged in and gain access to Target’s Guild Education page, you will now have access to 250+ programs from 40+ schools, colleges & universities available in your first year.

    3. Choose your program of study

Target’s Guild Education partnership offers Target team members access to 250+ programs from 40+ schools, colleges, and universities. Some of these universities include the University of Arizona, Oregon State University, online colleges like eCornell, and historically Black colleges and universities, such as Morehouse College and Paul Quinn College.

There are courses offered for high school completion, college prep and English language learning as well as select certificates, certifications, bootcamps, associate and undergraduate degrees.

There is 100% tuition coverage offered for select programs. The Debt-Free Program is only available to first-time degree seeking students. For those team members that wish to continue their education, Target will pay up to $5,250 for non-master’s degrees and up to $10,000 for master’s degrees each year.

Team members must enroll in a business-aligned degree program; however, there are over 250 fields from which to choose.

    What is Guild Education?

Guild Education is a company that connects corporate partners and a list of educational providers. Alternatives to Target tuition reimbursement

Target tuition reimbursement is a great option to help you finance your education, but it’s important to remember that it’s not the only one. A wide host of companies now offer tuition reimbursement, including Amazon, Chipotle, UPS, Starbucks, and more.

If you are looking to find credentials to benefit your career opportunities, it’s also a good idea to take a look at some alternatives to four-year universities. One especially popular route is the coding bootcamp. These programs require a fraction of the financial and time commitment of a four-year degree. What’s more, many programs offer income-share agreements, meaning you pay little to nothing for your education up-front, and only begin to pay it back once you land a high-paying job with your new credentials. Many bootcamps require no previous experience or academic credentials.

Students can also look into certificate programs such as the Google Certificate Program. This program can cost as little as $100 all-in, and it operates on a flexible schedule to accommodate your needs. These online certificate programs come with a dramatically improved earning potential for students who have not completed college.
