“Mom to Scholar” Scholarship for Mothers

The “Mom to Scholar” Scholarship for Mothers is open to mothers who want to begin or resume their journey towards earning a technical or college degree. This scholarship is funded by Scholarships360’s own Maria Geiger, who started her journey toward a B.A. at the same time that her oldest son Will started college. Maria knows firsthand how challenging it is to raise a family, have a job outside the home, and attend college, but would not change the way she did things for the world. Mothers who have a desire to earn their college degree bring unique perspectives that greatly enhance their learning experiences; for some, motherhood is a vocation that enlightens like no other. If you are a mother over the age of 35 who feels that the time is right to begin your academic or career journey, please apply!
Who is eligible to apply for the “Mom to Scholar” Scholarship for Mothers?
In order to be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- First and foremost, be a mother!
- Be age 35 or over
- Have financial need
- Submit an essay that shares why you would be a deserving recipient
- Share proof of enrollment at a technical, community, or four-year college/university
- Be a US Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, or DACA
How do you apply for this scholarship?
To apply for this scholarship, please log into your Scholarships360 account, then click the “Apply” link above. You’ll be directed to the web app where you can “Quick Apply” and submit your application. This includes an essay (minimum of 250 words please) that answers the following prompts:
What prompted you to begin or return to a career school or college? If you were to win this scholarship, how would it benefit you and your family?
If selected as a winner, the applicant will be contacted via email to send income and college enrollment information. The winner will be selected on the strength of their essay response in regard to their life experiences and future goals.
How much is the “Mom to Scholar” Scholarship for Mothers worth?
This scholarship is worth $1,000. The funds will be sent directly to the college the winner is/will be attending.
When is this scholarship due?
The scholarship application is due on June 1, 2022. The winner will be notified by June 30, 2022.
