During their three-month award, the Fulbright Visiting Professor will be expected to design a one-term (8-week) program of academic activities, that is connected to the legacy of Senator Fulbright's commitment to internationalism in relationships between states and their diplomacy and in bringing together individuals across the globe. Applications are welcome from scholars focusing on international politics construed widely (e.g. international relations, international and comparative political economy, the politics of international law and human rights). "Laszlo Orszagh Distinguished Award in American Studies" Scholars will teach one lecture or seminar course per semester (three hours per week) at undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Scholars may also offer short-term courses for Hungarian faculty and assist in curriculum development. Additional activities will vary, but may include advising students, overseeing student research and thesis work, participating in departmental research projects, doing outreach in the local community, meeting Hungarian Fulbright alumni, or giving a talk at one or two of the American Corners in Hungary. Scholars are strongly encouraged to also offer presentations at other Hungarian universities, preferably with a Study of the United States program. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree or be an Associate or full professor level with at least ten years of graduate teaching experience. Applicants must submit a Project Statement, a CV or Resume, and two Letters of Recommendation.
