Creative outlets, such as music, are an amazing way to destress, express your emotions and imagination, and even earn a scholarship! If you're an NSHSS (National Society of High School Scholars) member who enjoys expressing themselves through music, look no further than the NSHSS Performing Arts: Music Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is annually awarded to two (2) NSHSS members who are planning to pursue a professional certificate, associate, or bachelor's degree in performing arts (with a special interest in music). Applicants must also have a minimum 3.5 GPA and submit one (1) recommendation letter, a ~5-minute performance video, a short description of their piece, a ~500-word essay, a colored headshot of themselves, a transcript, and a resume to be considered for the scholarship. The NSHSS Performing Arts: Theater Scholarship is for rising high school students with a passion, exemplary skill, or interest in theater. Applicants must also have a minimum 3.5 GPA to qualify. Each year, the scholarship awards $1,000 each to two (2) dedicated students pursuing studies in the performing arts. To apply, students must submit a video of no more than 5 minutes of a selected performance of theirs, a short description of the piece, a ~500-word essay explaining what inspired them to pursue theater, an educator recommendation letter, a resume, a transcript, and a colored headshot of themselves. Do you reside in Clark or Floyd County, Indiana? If, so then you may be eligible for the Arts Scholarship Fund in Memory of Conrad and Anna Mae Adella Duffee! This $4,000 scholarship is offered to high school seniors residing in Clark or Floyd County who are passionate about pursuing a degree in the arts. Applicants must have a minimum 2.8 GPA, graduate with a minimum Core 40 diploma or equivalent, and attend an accredited two or four-year college or university. While students of all races and ethnicities are welcome to apply, preference will be given to a racial minority student.
