The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship Program is funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) and offers STEM students educational and workforce opportunities. Their mission is to “inspire, cultivate, and develop” STEM students to develop their future careers. In addition to having their full tuition expenses paid and the opportunity to partake in research internships, recipients are awarded a stipend worth between $30,000 and $46,000 a year. However, bear in mind that winners must also commit to post-graduation employment with the Department of Defense. The Fulbright-Nokia Distinguished Chair in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) is open to Ph.D. and Terminal Degree holders from the U.S. who are interested in both conducting research and teaching courses in information and communications technology at Finnish universities. The award emphasizes projects that prioritize active research work, including publications. Some guest lecturing and/or supervising students is also welcomed. While the main aim of this Chair position is designed to promote international exchange, the selected Chair is encouraged to participate in and explore research collaboration, write joint publications with Finnish colleagues, develop international exchange collaboration between the U.S. home and Finnish host institution, and otherwise engage with the host community and Finnish companies. The "Fulbright-Scotland Distinguished Scholar at the Glasgow School of Art" Award is open to artists and academics interested in conducting projects (including artistic ones) and teaching courses in select arts, humanities, and social science fields at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. The selected scholar will be expected to contribute to the intellectual life of the university through seminars, public lectures, and curriculum development in any discipline within the institution for six months. The "John Von Neumann Distinguished Award in STEM" is open to Ph.D. and Terminal Degree holders interested in conducting  STEM research at one of Hungary's top research facilities/institutions. Selected scholars for this grant are expected to conduct cutting-edge STEM research preferably at one of Hungary's high-priority research facilities or universities. A list of eligible institutions can be found on the John von Neumann Distinguished Award in STEM's webpage. Eligible topics include astronomy, chemistry, geology, information sciences/systems, neuroscience, physics, and more.
