The “Fulbright-Hanken Distinguished Chair in Business and Economics” grants the selected Chair the ability to conduct research in their area of specialization and contribute to the Hanken School of Economic’s knowledge dissemination to academia and the corporate world. In addition, the Chair will teach and guest lecture at the Hanken School of Economics, and on occasion, other Finnish universities. Through this, the Distinguished Chair is encouraged to network and create linkages throughout Finland. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree, and be full or associate professors.

The Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) was founded as a non-profit organization in 1947 and administered the Fulbright Scholar Program on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The Fulbright Program, the United States government's flagship program of international educational and cultural exchange, offers passionate and accomplished students and scholars in more than 160 countries the opportunity to study, teach, conduct research, exchange ideas, and contribute to mutual understanding.
