The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

All funds must be expended directly in support of the proposed investigation. Such expenses may include but are not limited to, costs of supplies, equipment, consumables, and gear necessary to conduct research, costs to cover gas to travel to local field sites, bench fees or equipment fees at field stations, or costs associated with being mobile after getting to a field site. Are you a current postsecondary student pursuing a STEM degree? If so, consider applying for the SMART Scholarship Program! The scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students studying one of SMART's ~24 approved STEM disciplines. The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship Program is funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) and offers STEM students educational and workforce opportunities. Their mission is to “inspire, cultivate, and develop” STEM students to develop their future careers. In addition to having their full tuition expenses paid and the opportunity to partake in research internships, recipients are awarded a stipend worth between $30,000 and $46,000 a year. However, bear in mind that winners must also commit to post-graduation employment with the Department of Defense. Are you an international or DACA female student looking to earn a STEM degree abroad? If so, you may be eligible for the MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship! The scholarship is open to international women who want to earn a STEM degree in the U.S. or Canada and are allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada. Thus, international women looking to study in the U.S. must have a Green Card, DACA status, or a valid visa. As for Canada, eligible applicants must be permanent residents or have a valid Canadian study permit. The scholarship is offered by MPOWER Financing, a public-benefit corporation based in Washington, D.C. that is dedicated to advocating for women in STEM. They look to reduce financial barriers to international education, and with this program, they hope to support women in obtaining their STEM degrees.
