Seeds, although generally tiny in size, play an integral role in the agricultural industry. They are not only the basic input for producing food and crops, but also are used as animal feed. Those who work in the seed industry are responsible for supporting growers by helping them operate and orchestrate seed equipment, planting, and seed scouting. Luckily, if you're a post-secondary student in California wanting to work in this field, the Ginny Patin Scholarship may be able to provide support for you! To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must be current or incoming post-secondary students who are attending a university in California. They must also be pursuing an agricultural degree related to the seed industry. Each year, three (3) students are chosen to earn $2,500 to go toward their post-secondary education. Recipients will be chosen based on their seed industry affiliation (through internships, jobs, events, and agricultural organization activities), demonstrated interest in the California seed industry, scholastic achievement and activities, an essay, letter(s) of recommendation, and financial need. Looking for other opportunities to plan(t) a better future? Then, consider checking out our other agriculture scholarships and scholarships for California students. Happy applying!Show Less

    How to win Agribusiness Scholarships

You can get started by outlining your academic and extracurricular experiences in these areas:Have you taken courses in business, economics, or agriculture? Have you participated in any agricultural or business-related internships or competitions?

In your application, show how your experiences have prepared you to pursue a career in agribusiness. Highlight any specific areas of interest within the field, such as sustainable agriculture or rural development. This specificity will help you stand out from other applicants.
