The Almac Scholarship Fund was established to give back to the communities in which Almac employees live and work, namely to the residents of Durham, Orange, Wake, and Chatham Counties in North Carolina. Thus, every year, the Almac Scholarship Fund grants financial support to 1st-year college students with financial need who reside in the above counties and are pursuing 4-year degrees at a North Carolina public college or university. While there is a preference for students pursuing majors or careers in STEM, students pursuing any field of study may apply so long as they meet the other eligibility requirements. Scholarship payments may be used for any "cost of attendance" and are worth $12,500 per year. The scholarship may be renewed for up to three additional years (for a total of $50,000) as long as the student maintains good academic standing (2.5 GPA) and submits semester reports to continue receiving funding.
