International students may apply. At least one award will be allocated to a recipient attending an HBCU, depending upon qualified applicants. The notified recipient must be enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at a verified HBCU institution for the entire upcoming academic year. Submission of two recommendations are required.

Candidates for the Brown and Caldwell Minority Scholarship Program must be United States citizens or permanent residents who have a declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology). Two written recommendations, with at least one from a university official are required.

Applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents and be enrolled at an accredited college/university, with a declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology). Applicants who identify as a woman and demonstrate leadership within the community are eligible to apply. Two written recommendations, with at least one from a university official, are required.

The LGBTQIA+ Scholarship aims to support students who identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, or Asexual, who are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession. Applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents enrolled at an accredited college/university, with a declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology). Applicants who identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community are eligible to apply. Two written recommendations, with at least one from a university official, are required.

The Matsuo Bridge Company, Ltd. of Japan Scholarship will be awarded to a college junior or senior, or a graduate student pursuing a degree in civil engineering, welding engineering, welding engineering technology, or related discipline. The award will be available to students nationwide; however, priority will be given to individuals residing in the states of California, Texas, Oregon or Washington. The recipient does not have to be a member of the American Welding Society; however, he/she must agree to participate in the AWS Foundation or Matsuo Bridge Company, Ltd. of Japan Sponsored publicity. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation along with their application.

The Arsham Amirikian Welding Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student pursuing a minimum four-year bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a welding related degree at an accredited university. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation along with their application.
