Great Minds in STEM/HENAAC Scholars Program
The HENAAC Scholar “addresses the immense need that the United States has to produce more domestic engineers and scientists.” In the past 12 years, this program has awarded over $2 million in scholarships to over 830 students!
Who is eligible for the HENAAC Scholars Program?
To be eligible for this scholarship program, students must intend to major in a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics). Specifically, this scholarship is for students who are Hispanic and involved in the Hispanic community. Additionally, students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. To receive the scholarship, recipients must also attend the HENAAC Conference.
What does the scholarship application include?
The scholarship application includes the following components:
- Resume (one-page limit)
- 700-word essay
- Official Transcript
- Academic recommendation
- Peer recommendation
The essay prompt for 2014 is: “What doe sit take to be an innovative STEM leader in today’s global market? Given your educational and cultural background, professional aspirations, and service to the Hispanic community, how do you fit that mold?”
