The Patriot’s Pen Youth Essay Contest is funded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), an organization that looks to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts, serve veterans, the military and our communities, and advocate on behalf of all veterans. Every year, VFW awards scholarships worth up to $5,000 to students in grades 6-8 who write a 300 – 400 word essay with a patriotic theme.
