So, before we begin looking at the Capital One tuition reimbursement program, let’s take a quick look at Capital One and what they do.

Capital One tuition reimbursement qualifications
The most important question about tuition reimbursement is always whether or not you qualify. Capital One makes the answer pretty simple for their employees. As long as you are a full or part time employee of Capital One (working at least 20 standard hours a week), you qualify for reimbursement!
Employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement starting on their exact date of hire. The start date of classes is the same as your hire date or later. Full time or part time associates are reimbursed for up to $5,250 per year.

1. Become a Capital One employee
Capital One offers an assortment of jobs in all sorts of areas all across the U.S. Some opportunities include jobs in data science, customer care, engineering, human resources, and more! Use the Capital One job finder to look for full and part time jobs near you!
2. Create an EdAssist account
Because Capital One does not require you to work for a certain amount of time before becoming eligible for tuition reimbursement, you can create your EdAssist account on day one! Your Bright Horizons EdAssist account is a crucial step in your Capital One tuition reimbursement journey, as it is how you will connect with an academic counselor and view the schools that you’re eligible to take classes at!
3. Choose your school
Tuition reimbursement is a really great resource, but it’s not always clear what you should study or what college you should attend. So, we have a few tips to help start you on your path!
- Understand the differences between degrees, such as associates, bachelors, masters and certificate programs
- Take some time to really dig deep and consider what you enjoy studying, as well as what you envision yourself doing for the remainder of your career
- Then explore what schools offer the types of programs you’d like to participate in
- Finally, consider what you have time for, as working a full-time or part-time job can be stressful and may not accommodate you going to school full time without having to make sacrifices in other areas of your life such as with family and your social life

4. Complete the proper paperwork
You’re almost there! Now that you’ve found what and where you’re going to study, you just need to sign on the dotted line. Throughout this process, make sure that you communicate with your employer and the school you’re attending. You’ll want to make sure you know what paperwork must be submitted when in order to receive your tuition reimbursement.
Unfortunately, colleges and large companies that provide tuition reimbursement usually have strict deadlines for their programs. Missing a deadline could disqualify you for a semester and push back your class start date. If that happens, it’s okay, but we know you want to get this process going!
5. Earn your degree
This step will take a varying amount of time based on each individual. Regardless of whether you’re starting at square one with no college credit or going back to school to chase the next step in your education, you should be proud!
School takes time and dedication. Finding out the best pace for you to complete classes and still maintain your job takes time. Some semesters you may enroll in more or less credit hours, and that’s okay. There’s no wrong way to pursue your education!
