The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships program was established to help Canadian institutions attract highly qualified doctoral students. The program is named after Major-General Georges P. Vanier, the first francophone Governor General of Canada, and requires candidates to be nominated by a Canadian institution with a quota to host Vanier scholars, and to be pursuing their first doctoral degree. Eligible doctoral programs must include a significant research component that leads to the completion of a thesis, major research project, dissertation, scholarly publication, performance, recital, or exhibit that is expert-reviewed as a requirement for completion of the program.
If this sounds like a good opportunity for you, we encourage you to apply! Keep on reading and check out the Vanier CGS webpage to learn more.
