Are you a student between the ages of 5 and 25 who is passionate about stopping hunger? If so, consider applying for the Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships! The scholarships are open to students who have completed ongoing, unpaid volunteer service to help eliminate hunger in the United States within the last 12 months. The scholarship is offered by the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, a nonprofit organization that ensures “every child in the U.S. grows up with dependable access to enough nutritious food to enable them to lead a healthy, productive life.” Their scholarship program recognizes the steps young students take to fight hunger in their communities and rewards them for their efforts. Up to five recipients are chosen every year to win a $7,500 scholarship and a $5,000 grant for their hunger-related charity. In addition, they will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the Foundation’s annual fundraising event in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
