Scholarship Overview

The SAE Heinz C. Prechter Automotive Excellence Scholarship annually awards $10,000 to a young entrepreneur pursuing a degree in engineering or a related science field. This scholarship will award the creative ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit of a student-driven idea or initiative that is in the early stages of implementation or has already been successfully executed. To be considered, applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. ABET-accredited program and outline a fully detailed, actionable design plan that shows the ability to implement their idea within the next 6-12 months if awarded the scholarship OR show the already executed idea. Applicants will be evaluated based on the creativity, ingenuity, and practicality of their entrepreneurial idea, which should have a positive impact.
