The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

* There are certain exceptions to this, for example if the sponsoring organization is a major corporation or nonprofit with its own scholarship application system.

Scholarship Overview

Attention all Philadelphia area college students pursuing a career in journalism or multimedia arts! The Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists is offering a chance to win one of two $2,500 scholarships for those enrolled full-time in a four-year accredited college in the Philly region. If you’re pursuing an undergraduate degree in journalism or communications, or another major working toward a journalism career, this challenge is for you! And for community college students, there’s a $1,000 scholarship up for grabs for those pursuing an associate degree in journalism or multimedia arts. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to kickstart your career!

The Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists (PABJ), founded in 1973, is the nation's oldest professional association of Black journalists. With over 200 active members, they are also one of the largest & the founding chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists.
