Offered by American Vacuum Society
Are you a registered, female graduate student in an accredited academic institution who is conducting research in the field of vacuum science and technology? If so, the Nellie Yeoh Whetten Award may be a great opportunity for you! Each year, the award grants a cash award, a certificate, and reimbursed travel support to attend the International Symposium to one applicant. To be considered for the scholarship, students must be nominated and submit a Curriculum Vitae and an abstract in PDF format.
Following the Awards Committee Meeting in the Spring/Summer, the top eight (8) student nominees are notified and invited to present talks on their research to the Awards Committee in a virtual interview in late summer. After the interview, one of the top three (3) students of the eight (8) finalists will receive the Varian Award. The finalists not selected will receive either the Hoffman Award, Varian Award, or Dorothy M or Earl S. Hoffman Scholarships.
If this sounds like a good opportunity for you, we encourage you to apply! Keep on reading to learn more.
