The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

Scholarship Overview

Are you pursuing a career in music, sound, or the entertainment technology industry? If so, you should check out the Lamond Gennext Award (previously the NAMM President’s Innovation Award)! This scholarship is open to college students enrolled in a two- or four-year university program to prepare for a career in the music, sound, or entertainment technology industry.  Scholarship recipients have gone on to enjoy successful careers in music performance, music education, media, sound engineering, event technology, management, marketing, and more. If you’re passionate about music and you’re seeking funds to help pay for college, we encourage you to apply!

About NAMM Foundation

The NAMM Foundation, founded in 2006, is an organization dedicated to promoting music education. They work to advance active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving, and public service programs.

This scholarship is open to students enrolled in a university-based music business, music education, or music technology program.
