Are you a minority, Florida resident, and aspiring teacher? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you: The Minority Teacher Education Scholarship! Each cycle, the scholarship awards $4,000 to aspiring teachers studying at public Florida universities. The scholarship is biannual, with priority deadlines of August 1st and November 30th. In order to apply, applicants must be enrolled in state-approved Educator Preparation Programs at select Florida institutions. If awarded the scholarship, you must maintain certain eligibility criteria, attend the annual symposium, and agree to teach in Florida for the same number of years you received funding. The scholarship is funded by the Florida Fund for Minority Teachers, Inc., an organization with a mission “to increase the number of minority teachers in Florida to better reflect our state’s diverse population.”
