The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Scholarship Program encourages students of color to become educators, school nurses, school counselors, or school therapists and to promote professional growth for teachers and ESP (Education Support Professionals) members of color. Applicant must be pursuing a degree, credential, or certification for a teaching-related career in public education in an accredited institution of higher education. In addition, applicants must be one of the following: an active member of CTA, a dependent child of an active, CTA/NEA-Retired or deceased CTA member (per IRS ruling), or an active member of Student CTA (SCTA).
