The Martin Frank Diversity Travel Award program is designed to broaden participation of those pursuing professional careers in physiological sciences. The specific intent of this program is to increase active participation in and networking at scientific meetings among trainees and early career faculty who are from groups underrepresented in the physiological sciences and those with disabilities. Specifically, the program provides travel awards to underrepresented diverse groups of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early career faculty members (within 5 years of obtaining a PhD) to attend the American Physiology Summit, and APS conferences. Applicants attending U.S. institutions and conducting research within the 50 States and U.S. Territories are also eligible to apply.

They connect a multidisciplinary community of nearly 10,000 scientists and educators from around the world, driving collaboration and spotlighting scientific discoveries in physiology and related disciplines. Their members are dedicated to advancing treatments and cures for everything from cancer and heart disease, to obesity and addiction. They also work to deepen our insight into living organisms generally, helping the public better understand how things like climate change are affecting the world around us.
