Are you enrolled as a part-time or full-time student in any Associate, Baccalaureate, Masters, or Doctorate degree program offered by an accredited university or college in Hawai‘i? If so, you may be eligible for the Kailua Hawaiian Civic Club Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship awards $1,000 each to three eligible students studying in a Hawaiian college or university. Preference will be given to applicants who are (1) of Hawaiian or part-Hawaiian ancestry and/or (2) are members in good standing of the Kailua Hawaiian Civic Club, or who are relatives of KHCC members in good standing. The Kailua Hawaiian Civic Club, established in Papa Louis Mahoe's garage in 1958, has held fast to the same kulaiwi-centered mission in their more than six decades of existence. They strive to: "enrich the lives of their ʻōiwi and ʻohana", advance the appreciation, study, and practice of Hawaiian culture, and "malama their lands, waters, iwi kupuna, and wahi pana." They envision "The return of a permanent, thriving Hawaiian presence to our Kailua home"
