Scholarship Overview

Are you a Hispanic/Latino, college-bound high school senior attending Franklin High School in Stockton, California who is involved in community service and extracurricular activities? If so, the John & Francesca Vera Community Leadership Scholarship may be a great opportunity for you! Each year, the scholarship awards $2,500 to one (1) Hispanic/Latino male high school senior and (1) Hispanic/Latino female high school senior who are attending Franklin High School and will be pursuing an undergraduate degree (in any major). Applicants must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be involved in extracurricular activities or community service. To be considered for the scholarship, interested students must submit (1) a letter of recommendation from a teacher, faculty member, or school counselor and (2) an essay on “what leadership means to you and how have you demonstrated leadership in your community, and what your career ambitions are and how your degree will assist in achieving those goals.” If you’re a college-bound, Hispanic/Latino high school senior from Franklin High School, we encourage you to apply!
