The Higher Education Scholarships for Orphans of Veterans is a program that offers financial assistance to children of New Hampshire service members who lost their lives while on active duty or due to service-connected disabilities. The scholarship covers expenses such as room, board, books, and supplies at New Hampshire public colleges and universities. The Division of Higher Education - Higher Education Commission, under the N.H. Department of Education coordinates and regulates the activity of private, profit and non-profit colleges, universities and career schools. The Division also approves programs for eligible veterans utilizing their GI Bill benefits; provides copies of closed school transcripts to former students; conducts research and studies; administers the Scholarships for Orphans of Veterans, administers federal grants related to postsecondary education.
