    The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

    • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
    • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
    • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
    • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
    • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
    • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
    • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
    • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
    • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months

    Scholarship Overview

    The Gretchen Laatsch Grant & Scholarship awards aim to encourage the involvement of graduate students in scholarly research and writing for the field of college unions and student activities. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled at an ACUI member institution. Awards will be given to recognize and support activities such as: conducting a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation research study in the field of college unions and student activities, fulfilling practicum credit requirements by completing research, data analysis, and/or writing project(s) in collaboration with ACUI, advancing the ACUI Research Agenda through a collaborative research project between graduate student(s), practitioner(s), and/or faculty member(s), and submitting publication-ready articles written by graduate student(s) that contribute to the knowledge base of college unions and student activities.     ACUI, founded in 1914, is a nonprofit educational organization that brings together college union and student activities professionals from hundreds of schools in seven countries.
