Are you a current or incoming post-secondary student of Latino heritage who will be attending an institution of higher education in Nebraska for the upcoming school year? If so, consider applying for the Barrientos Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship will award between $2,500 and $8,000 to multiple Latino students who are set to enter or return to a Nebraska university for the upcoming school year. By completing the scholarship application, applicants will be considered for each of the following: the Geena Gomez Alvarez Insurance Master’s Program Scholarships ($8,000), the Magic Touch Scholarships (1 x $5,000) and (2 x $2,500), and the Latino’s Society of OPPD Employees Scholarships (2 x $2,500). The Barrientos Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Omaha, Nebraska. Their primary goal is to help reduce the financial burden for students who have demonstrated strong academic aptitude, service to others, high character (via letters of recommendation), and personal ambition. As rising cost of higher education continues to be a major obstacle for many students, the Foundation vows to reward students for their achievements by helping reduce their financial burden to attend college.
