The AIST Foundation Steel Intern Premier Scholarship, worth between $7,500 and $12,000 USD, is a one-year scholarship awarded to up to 50 engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, or safety or industrial hygiene students each year. Applicants must be United States, Canadian, or Mexican citizens attending a four-year undergraduate or graduate program and be willing to commit to a paid summer internship at a North American steel-producing company or steel-related company in the summer following the scholarship deadline.
Upon selection, AIST will assist in placing recipients at their internships. However, applicants are encouraged to seek information from steel companies and may, at any time, accept an internship or co-op at a steel-producing company or industry supplier (with approval from AIST).
