The American Dental Education Association (ADEA)/Sigma Phi Alpha Linda DeVore Scholarship annually awards $1,500 to one (1) ADEA Individual Member who is a part- or full-time student in a course of study in dental hygiene, education, or public health (baccalaureate, master’s, or doctoral degrees). The scholarship was established to honor the memory and the 30-year dental education career of Professor Linda Rubinstein DeVore, who was active in dental hygiene education, scholarship, and public service. Thus, applicants should demonstrate a commitment to leadership in education or health care; for example, he or she is serving as an exemplary class officer or organizing a major class or school-wide community service activity.
