Scholarships for Girl Scouts
Thus far, Scholarships360 has profiled only one scholarship offered to Girl Scouts (the Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation Scholarship), although this scholarship is by no means the exception; each year, many, many scholarships are offered to members of the Girl Scouts, especially those who have won awards (i.e. Gold Award recipients).
Rather than point to one or two specific scholarships, it is probably best to go to the scholarships at the source: the “Scholarships for Girl Scouts” page on the website of said organization. Here, one can easily pick what “type” of scholarship they want (either a scholarship for a specific college, an award, a scholarship from a specific foundation, etc.) and what state they are looking for scholarships in. This tool is great, since, as the more specific the scholarship is, the less competitive the competition will be, and the greater your chances of winning are.
Of course, the deadlines are varying on all of these scholarships, so it’s best to check a few out and, if the deadline has passed, and you still have a year of HS (or more) ahead of you, write down the scholarship name for next year. If you manage to catch the deadline, good luck!
