Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
This is the best-known national association for electrical engineers. Boasting over 400,000 members, they offer networking opportunities, collaborations, conferences, and more. Students should be sure to look into the organization to plug into a robust national network of likeminded professionals.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology
This organization has a bit of a wider scope than IEEE, and it will allow electrical engineering students to plug into a network of those in the same field and in closely related ones. For those looking for access to journals, opportunities to get published, and more, this is a great organization to consider.
Eta Kappa Nu
