Top Scholarships from $5,000 to $10,000

Are you a Black, college-bound high school senior or current college student who will be enrolled in an accredited university for this upcoming academic year? If so, you may be eligible for the Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Contest! Each quarter, the contest awards $8,000 to the top four (4) applicants who submit an essay (500 words or less) or a video (3 minutes or less) about how someone they know has (1) inspired them and (2) given them the confidence to achieve their goals. The scholarship is offered four times a year, with deadlines every March, June, September, and December. Each year, the scholarship vows to meet the unmet financial need of its top applicants, awarding up to $7,500 per semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters (for a total of up to $60,000 over four years)! Applicants may even receive additional money depending upon their GPA, grade level, and other academic achievements. Each year, the scholarship awards $7,500 to one (1) Massachusetts high school senior who plans to go to college, has a long-term mentor, and who holds a minimum 2.75 GPA. To be considered for the scholarship, interested students must submit a 100-200-word personal statement, as well as a letter of recommendation from and a photo with their mentor. The scholarship may be received for up to four years, allowing recipients to earn a total of $30,000, so long as they continue to meet the GPA requirements.
