University of Chicago Scholarships

The University of Chicago is one of the most esteemed research universities in the world. U Chicago has had nearly 100 Nobel Laureates affiliated with the University and counts President Barack Obama as a former faculty member. The University of Chicago also offers some of the most generous financial aid in the world awarding both merit-based and need-based scholarships to students. In fact, U Chicago is one of the few schools that is both need-blind (which means that it does not consider a candidate’s ability to pay when making admissions decisions) and meets 100% of demonstrated financial aid.

University of Chicago Scholarships

The University of Chicago scholarships include the following awards:

  • University Scholarship
  • Dean’s Scholarship (which provides funding for research, internships, or summer graduate-level work)
  • President’s Scholarship (which provides research, internship, or graduate-level work funding for two summers)
  • Provost’s Scholarship (which provides funding for research)

These scholarships range from $5,000 to $10,0000. The best part of these scholarships is that all first year students are automatically considered for merit scholarships and do not need to complete any additional applications.

UChicago First-Generation Scholarships

U Chicago has some very generous opportunities for first-generation college students (who will be the first in their family to attend college). All admitted first-generation students will receive a $20,000 scholarship over four years. U Chicago also offers funding for internships and research for first-generation students.

National Police and Fire Scholarship

If you are the child of professional, active-duty, or killed on duty municipal, county, and state police/firefighters, you are eligible for a full-tuition scholarship for all four years.
