The William (Bill) Ezzell Scholarship provides financial assistance to CPAs pursuing their Ph.D.’s in accounting. Eligible applicants must be registered as an accounting faculty member or professional on ThisWayToCPA and have a minimum of three years of professional accounting experience, with a portion of that experience being within the last three years at the time of enrollment (internships can be included as long as the work was accounting or finance related). They must also either have a GMAT score of 650 or higher or an equivalent GRE score (must be less than 5 years old) and be at least in the second year of their current Ph.D. program. One of the ways they do this is through their scholarship program, which offers educational funding for accounting students at all stages - from high school seniors about to enter college to CPAs pursuing their Ph.D. The AICPA Foundation awards more than $1 million in scholarships, grants and fellowships to hundreds of students each year, with recipients receiving on average $5,000 towards their education.
